For dogs and cats. Have trouble trimming your pet's nails? Can't get a brush near them? Need to medicate your pet? We will work on teaching your pet to allow basic husbandry and handling. Minimum of 4 sessions.

You will need a pet bed or mat or platform to work the pet on. We can discuss options depending on the behavior you need to work.

Please have the tools you need for the behavior, nail trimmers, brush, etc.

For teaching your pet to allow medicating, you will need some special items. We can discuss those prior to class.

We will work on teaching cooperative care, which means working with your pet to allow you to do the grooming or medicating you need to. This is about giving the pet the control, they will learn that it's okay to say 'no' to the treatment and in doing so will comply more often than not.

This is how zoos work with wild animals to deliver medication and health care. Fear free handling and cooperation.

Sessions may be added at any time.

Judy Seils

Judy Seils has over 20 years of experience working with dogs and cats in the most stressful of environments, the veterinary clinic. During that time, she taught dog training classes and helped clients with behavior issues. She trained and competed with two of her dogs, Dreamer and Shiloh, in flyball, and coached other teammates in training their dogs. Judy also had fun working with Dreamer and Shiloh in freestyle.

Though currently dogless, Judy is clicker training her calico cat, Ruby who is keeping her humble as they work on such behaviors as sit, beg, give me five, wearing a harness and others. Cats are definitely harder to train than dogs, but also fun to work with.

Judy loves using her knowledge to help other people train their dogs and cats.
