DISCLAIMERS: M7 characters belong to Trilogy, et al, SG-1 characters belong to Gekko, MGM, and Showtime. Adriana is mine ... don't mind if you borrow her, just ask first, give her back intact and give credit where credit is due. Mindy belongs to herself and my neighbors, though she still thinks my family and I belong to her.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Here's my contribution to the Magnificent Musings Christmas challenge, a sequel to my earlier, Home For Christmas. Be gentle, this is the first time I've answered a challenge.

Billy Travis knew the adults were up to something. He overheard Vin and Drina talking about him and his mom moving in with Chris, and how it was a transition for Billy. Especially since this was his first Christmas ... their first Christmas as a family. He overheard them thinking of ways to make it a little easier on him. This first Christmas out of the house where he spent Christmas with his dad.

He knew JD was making plans of his own, which included spiked eggnog from Inez for Buck. Billy didn't know what it was spiked with, just that it was supposed to keep Buck from bugging Vin and Drina. It was their first Christmas together, as an 'item.' That was why Vin and Drina spent Christmas Eve with Chris, Billy, and Billy's mom. Because it was also the first Christmas since Chris and Vin found out they were brothers.

Billy was shocked to find out that Vin never camped out by the Christmas tree, waiting for Santa when he was growing up, as they had the night before. He, Vin, and Drina. It made him sad. He liked Vin a lot. The day before, while Drina and Billy's mom were baking cookies, Vin and Chris went outside with Billy and helped him make a snowman. It was different this year. Maybe because they were like a real family now ... dad, little kid, and uncle?

They played in the snow for hours. Billy, who had known Vin almost as long as he had known Chris, was shocked to actually hear him laughing. Giggling, even, especially when Chris and Billy double-teamed him and pinned him in the snow. For a moment, Billy thought he saw sadness in his new father's eyes (never mind that Chris and Mom weren't actually married yet). And then the sadness was gone, replaced by a wicked glint as he tickled Vin mercilessly.

The games continued until Billy's mom and Drina rang the dinner bell. It was kinda funny, 'cause they were baking cookies, then ordered out for pizza. Chris teased them about that, and Mom chased him around the kitchen with one of her spatulas. Billy and Vin laughed about it, while they were drying off in the laundry room. But quietly, so Billy's mom wouldn't hear them, and get mad at them as well.

While they were eating pizza, Adriana explained about the Yule log, even though Billy never had one, and didn't understand why anyone would have them. That wasn't the point. Drina was an archaeologist, so she knew a lot of cool things. Billy didn't understand why JD didn't think Drina's job was special. To Billy, getting to dig in the dirt, and do the sort of things Drina did was the coolest thing he could imagine.

And now, it was time for the most important part of all ... opening the gifts. As Josiah pushed the first gift over to Billy, who got to open his first, since he was the youngest, the little boy observed JD holding a piece of mistletoe over Vin and Adriana's heads. Vin moved ever so slightly, then kissed Drina. Billy giggled and turned his attention back to the gifts. He didn't know what the adults finally did ... but he did know this would be his best Christmas ever.
