Note: Thank you to Linda for letting me play in her universe and for Karen for her wonderful betaing. And in case you were wondering, yes, I overheard my baby sister say this to her older brother (my baby brother) ... I have no clue why, I just fell over laughing. <sigh>
Ezra sighed. He hated it when it was his turn to discipline the children. It was never a job any parent relished, but he absolutely abhorred it. He sighed, then glanced at his other friends. In front of the Seven, stood their oldest children — all in trouble. And it looked like his children were the ring leaders this time. That left him to start the disciplining. "Peter, Penelope, what do you have to say for yourselves?"
Predictably, the cacophony of voices started instantly.
"Enough!" Ezra glanced at the others — no support there. He took a deep breath. "Peter, Penelope, Michael, Elena, Samantha, Thomas, Adam — you are the oldest, the younger children look up to you —"
"Well, of course they do, Daddy! They're all shorter than we are!" Penny rolled her eyes like it was common knowledge.
JD ran out of the room ... Vin not far behind.
Buck and Nathan's eyes were tearing.
Josiah turned his back, but his shoulders were shaking.
And Chris? Well, his lips were twitching as he watched Ezra's flabbergasted and speechless expression. "Hey, Ez?" He waited until Ezra turned. His smile smug. "Ain't nothing like the taste of your own medicine, eh, partner?"
