"I tell you Ez, this girl was somethin'." Buck's blue eyes twinkled as he threw a card down on the table and accepted another from the gambler. "But man could she talk, just wouldn't shut up."

"Do tell, Mr. Wilmington," was the disinterested Southerner's response.

"I believe he is," JD laughed, and threw two cards down.

Ezra chuckled as Buck looked hurt. "Now boy you ought to listen to ol' Buck, you might learn something."

"Right, like how to out talk a girl."

"See right there JD," Buck pointed his finger at the laughing young man, "proves you don't know nothin' `bout women. No one can out-talk a female."

The young gunslinger and Standish shared an amused glance. An excerpt from the `Bible On Women' by Buck Wilmington.

"I know more than you think, Buck," JD boasted to his friend.

Wilmington snorted and threw a chip into the pot. "Sure, kid, sure. You're still wet behind the ears."

Smiling at the gambler, JD turned back the ladies' man, "I bet I know a whole month when they talk less than you think they do."

Smiling broadly the gambler held up a bill. "I'll take that bet!"

The rogue grabbed his chest in astonishment, "What Ez, you think the kid here knows more about women than me?"

"I assure you, Mr. Wilmington, I bet on nothing less than a sure thing."

"Oh I am wounded!" Buck picked up two bills from the pile in front of him. "Okay, Mr. Fancypants, I'll double your bet. You'll see who knows more about women." An incensed Wilmington waved the bills under Ezra's face before turning back to the grinning young man.

"Alright JD, since you're so cocky. Just when do you think women talk less?"

"Simple, Buck: February."

Grinning broadly so his gold tooth gleamed, Standish grabbed the bills out of a confused Wilmington's hand and clapped JD on the back. "Son, the next round is on me."
