Vin growled, fingers stabbing at the keyboard.
"Something amiss, Vin?"
"I haven't got high enough clearance to access the records."
Ezra joined him, looking over his shoulder. He frowned at the screen. "What's your clearance?"
"Confidential," he grudgingly admitted.
"Confidential?" Ezra couldn't hold back the smirk. "What did you do, Mr. Tanner, kill someone in high school?"
"Ha! That's so funny, Ez. No, I screwed up my paperwork with another agent's."
"Agent Tanner died in a car crash last month. Very tragic."
They both watched Chris as he stalked through the bullpen and up to MTAC.
Ezra raised an eyebrow, silently demanding an explanation.
Vin cleared his throat. "They yanked my clearance. Now I gotta take a physical to get it back."
"Why's that?"
Vin snorted. "To prove that I'm still alive."
Ezra choked on his own laughter. "Here, let me try."
Vin slid over, letting him at the computer, brow beetling when Ezra gasped in shock. "What?"
"It says my clearance isn't high enough either!"
Vin snorted again. "Let's get Chris. He'll get in. He's got clearance that'll let him see the dead aliens buried in Area 51."
It was Ezra's turn to snort. "Because he probably killed them."
